Hundertwasser Tower in Abensberg
Kuchlbauer-Tower
Abensberg is about 60 km north of the Hotelpension zum Gockl and can be reached by car in less than an hour.

The Kuchlbauer Tower, short under 35m, has been planned by the famous Friedensreich Hundertwasser, unfortunatley he did not live to see its construction – he did in 2000 when the tower was still in the planning phase. The tower was than build by the architect Peter Pelikan. Finally completed it was by the Leonhard Salleck, the owner of the brewery.
The tower is the landmark of Kuchlbauer's World of Beer, it accomodates Leonhard Salleck's collection of 4200 wheat beer glasses, beer brewing is demsonated and the "Reinheitsgebot" (the German purity law for beer) is explained.
